Reflection

This was indeed a class that I was excited for and nervous in taking all at the same time. LSC 548 was a very informative class with its lessons that gave me the confidence and motivation to advance in Information Architecture. Working with HTML, CSS, and Java Script was not as problematic as it appears with the coding language; however, it does take time and patience to understand the details that is involve in designing useable site to navigate from point A to point B. I feel what we did in LSC 508 is similar to this class; however, the main difference is working in the back end of the interface, working in the raw with IA language and not cut and paste from what is already done and laid out. The difficulty I have experienced is detail specific with transferring file through FileZilla. This was the case with how you name your file with upper case letters must be the same in the file module in FileZilla which you have to change manually, it does not automatically do it for you after saving from your hard drive. The style sheet is a cool feature while working on a project that respond to multiple pages with stylized features with fonts, headings color, tables, images, ordered, unordered lists and etc. The App lab was of the projects I enjoyed doing and I feel it is valuable to move forward in our career in librarianship, l’ve read articles that mentioned apps being developed for library and information access for users.

My future with IA

A digital library architect is one who designs a plan or undertaking and advises in the ongoing construction of the resulting project, Architecting a system largely entails taking system concepts as embodied in principles, requirements, and prototypes and mapping them to physical components-the work of the architect can be undertaken at many dfferent levels (Gilman & Lynch, 2017).I taken this course because I was deeply interested learning about the many forms technology and its usage with information needs. When it comes to the feature of library service technology in the digital age should always be considered as a component to the evolution of the libraries. I do see myself working as an IA for a library or museum to make the digital service useable in navagating digital sources. From taking this course I gain a better understanding of web design and organization using HTML, CSS, and Javascript and I would like to further practice on these skills thats needed in the job market with LIS. IAs are in demand, and have substanial impact on information organization with organizing information and looking across devices and channels is a growing area (Ding, 2017).
